Science
(5 block hours/week) |
Through hands on experience in science, students
have opportunities to discover, question, reflect,
experiment, explore and record. Fourth grade physical
science includes study of the scientific method and
various experiments. Fifth Grade explores the four
realms of science: life science, physical science,
earth science and human development. Reinforcement
of science skills of inquiry, observation, inference,
classification, interpretation and experimentation.

Arabic/Filipino
(5 block hours/week) |
Th Arabic curriculum concentrates on developing proper
skills for communication, comprehension and writing
of Arabic. Culture geography and basic vocabulary
are presented to increase student's conversational
and grammatical skills. The fourth and fifth grade
curriculum introduces more sophisticated grammar and
conversational conventions, expanded vocabulary and
a more in depth study of Islamic culture. Written
and spoken Arabic are important parts of the upper
primary grades studies. The Filipino curriculum will
concentrate on language skills communication, comprehension
and writing.

Social Studies
(5 block hours/week) |
Over five years of primary education the students
will first learn about their country, community and
current events. Map skills will be taught along with
an emphasis on Qatar's cultural diversity. Geography,
continents and medieval studies with various traditions
around the world will be emphasized from Grade 3.
Grades 4 & 5 will concentrate on world cultures
and the interrelationships that communication has
brought to the world.

Technology
(1 class weekly) |
Technology experience, in the classroom and in the
computer lab are integrated into all curriculum areas.
Technology becomes a tool that fosters creative and
critical thinking, as well as the acquisition of the
technology and content skills.

Visual Arts |
Once per week students will be exposed to various
media; projects will be integrated with class room
curriculum; art history will be a focus of the yearly
endeavors.

Music will be taught once in a week for either vocal
and/or instrument instruction, music appreciation
and history. Videos and cassettes will be used to
supplement the oral instruction.

Physical Education
(2 classes/week) |
Development of hand, foot, eye skills; introducing
to low level games.

to intermediate level games.

Begin to develop leadership skills; develop the ability
to maintain continuous physical fitness for specific
time periods.

Continue work on leadership skills as well as team
work. Physical activities include exercise to music,
